Individual admission procedure for applicants from Ukraine

This page is based on the measures issued by Act No. 67/2022 Coll. on measures in the field of education in connection with the armed conflict on the territory of Ukraine caused by the invasion of the troops of the Russian Federation and concerns mainly applicants for study at the Faculty of Applied Informatics (FAI) of Tomas Bata University in Zlín (TBU), who also are persons who have been forced to leave the territory of Ukraine in connection with the armed conflict in Ukraine and who have been granted temporary protection under Act No. 65/2022 Coll., or who are students of a higher education institution in the Czech Republic with Ukrainian citizenship who are not included in the general category.

1.     Study at FAI in academic year 2021/22

It is possible to join studies at the FAI in the current academic year in the form of a study internship.

2.     Study at FAI in academic year 2022/23

To study in academic year 2022/23 (starting in the middle of September 2022), for study programmes taught both in the Czech and English language, it is necessary to apply individually according to the following procedure:

The application to study is initiated using the application form. The form is available in Czech language for applications to study programmes taught in Czech, and in English language for applications taught in English. The application form is to be filled in, printed, signed and submitted personally or sent to Student Affairs Department of FAI.

In addition to the application form, the applicant under temporary protection is obliged to provide the following documents:

–     proof of temporary protection status by a visa sticker in the travel document or a record of the granting of temporary protection in the travel document or other document,

–     in the case of application for admission to study in a Bachelor’s Degree programme, an officially certified copy of the matriculation certificate, and an officially certified copy of the nostrification clause pursuant to Decree No. 12/2005 Coll.,

–     in the case of application for admission to a Master’s Degree programme, an officially certified diploma or other proof of successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree and an officially certified copy of the nostrification clause pursuant to Decree No. 12/2005 Coll.,

–     in the case of interest in studying in Czech language, an officially certified copy of a certificate of passing an examination in the Czech language at least at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or by passing an internal examination in the Czech language at UTB in person or by means of distance communication.

Applicants may apply for recognition of foreign secondary and higher education at UTB in accordance with Rector’s Directive No. 13/2017 Rector´s Directive No. 13/2017click here for more information.

If the applicant under temporary protection is unable to provide documents proving his/her completed education, it is possible to replace them with an affidavit in Czech or English language. If the applicant submits an affidavit in Ukrainian, a translation by a court interpreter will be necessary.

The Faculty does not require proof of B2 level Czech language proficiency for an applicant to a study programme conducted in the Czech language if the applicant enrols in and duly completes an intensive preparatory course in the Czech language.

Admission Committee appointed by the Dean of FAI meets as needed and individual applications are assessed within 30 days of receipt of the application.

  • Applied Informatics in Industrial Automation with specialisation Intelligent Systems with Robots – curricula.

Available Master´s Degree study programmes taught in English in academic year 2022/23:

  • Automatic Control and Informatics in Industry 4.0 – curricula
  • Information Technologies with specialisation Software Engineering – curricula

All study programmes are offered in full-time form only.
