Timetable and procedure of the agenda associated with bachelor’s and master’s theses for the academic year 2023/2024

Bachelor´s and Master´s Degree Theses Timetables for the 2023/2024 Academic Year according to Dean’s Decree RD/13/23 – Time-schedule of the Agenda Associated with Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Theses for the 2023/2024 Academic Year

1. 9. – 1. 10. 2023 Tutors enter, for each study programme, a list of BT/MT topics into IS/STAG in the form of “framework topics” (they specify what the topic will cover – an annotation).

9. 10. – 15. 10. 2023 Branch Council Members will evaluate the BT/DT topics in the system.
(Responsibility: Branch Council Members)
16. 10. – 22. 10. 2023 The Study Programme/Branch Guarantor will approve the topics.(Responsibility: Guarantorr)
23. 10. – 5. 11. 2023 Students must choose a BT/DT topic. The list of approved topics by study programmes/fields will be published in IS/STAG on October, 23rd, 2023. Students can register for the selected topic. The BT/MT supervisor will assign the topic to one of the registered students by appointment. Once the topic is assigned to a registered student, a topic of the type completed by the student is automatically created.

23. 10. – 12. 11. 2023 Fullfilment of official assignment points and recommended literature to the topic type completed by the student. The initial outline of the topic is further completed and specified by the student in collaboration with the BT/MT supervisor after the topic is assigned.

13. 11. – 19. 11. 2023
The guarantor of the relevant study program/field approves the completed official assignment points and recommended literature – the basis for the official BT/MT assignment.
(Responsibility: Student + Tutor + SP guarantor) 
20. 11. – 3. 12. 2023
Creation of the official BT/MT specifications. The Director (Secretariat) of the Department checks the formalities of the inserted BT/MT specifications and, if correct, arranges for the printing of the official BT/MT specifications.

4. 12. – 22. 12. 2023 Students will receive an official BT/DT assignment. The official date is determined by the Department guaranteeing the relevant field of study.(Responsibility: Department Head of the guaranteed field of study)
May-June 2024
Students submit their BT/DT within the FAI IS/STAG system. The exact date will be determined according to the Final State Exams (“FSE”) deadlines of individual fields of study.
Their work can be submitted on the days and times determined by the Department – no later than 14 days before the Final Examination. Submission Deadlines will be published on the FAI website in a timely manner.(Responsibility: Student)
June 2024 Final State Exams FSE dates will be made public on the FAI website.

In addition to the individual work of students, the BT/DT subject also includes Control Days, when students must present the status of their BP/DP solution. At least 2 control days are organized and the organization of control days is within the competence of the Guarantor of the field; who sets the dates and content of control days; at the beginning of the summer semester at the latest.
