Preparation of BT/MT for submission
Before submitting the BT/MT, it is necessary to:
Obtain credit for the BT/MT course
- Credit for the BT/MT course is awarded by the study program guarantee based on completion of all requirements:
- participation on the BT/MT course Control Days,
- a positive opinion of the supervisor – the supervisor confirms his/her agreement/disagreement with the credit.
Upload BT/MT to IS/STAG
- Fill in all the information about your work marked with a yellow triangle in the IS/STAG
- You do not need to fill in the following items: appendices, parallel title, and subtitle.
- Upload your thesis to IS/STAG in two files – PDF of the thesis and ZIP of the attachments
- The PDF must be in PDF/A format and must be named “pdf“.
- The PDF file also includes a scan of the official assignment with all formalities due to pseudonymization without signatures, which you received when you officially handed in the assignment (or it was sent to you by e-mail).
- The PDF also includes the unsigned Author’s Declaration, which is part of the BT/MT templates (instead of the signature, the student’s name + year – e.g. John Smith, year).
- If the BT/MT includes attachments (program source files, web pages, MATLAB programs, schematics, etc.), you are submitting all of these files! Compress everything relevant into one file “zip” and then upload this as a second file to IS/STAG.
- If the size of the ZIP attachments exceeds 1 GB, the attachments must be uploaded using cesnet.cz to prilohy@utb.cz (see prilohy.utb.cz for more detailed instructions). Any problems should be solved individually with the Vice-Dean doc. Prokopová (prokopova@utb.cz).
Important information:
- Due to GDPR, the official assignment and the declaration should only be included without signatures in the electronic version of the thesis!
- Submit the full text of the BT/MT as a PDF file, with the attachments packed into one ZIP-file.
- The BT/MT must be in the archivable PDF/A format – IS/STAG automatically checks this format.
- The files must be named as above; otherwise, the opponent will not be able to access them and will not judge the work, which can be a major complication for the SFE.
- The paper and the electronic form of the thesis must be identical in content.
Instructions for the procedure can be found: save as PDF/A.
Printing and binding of BT/MT
- The BT/MT shall be printed in duplicate – ‘printout to store’ and ‘printout to return’.
- The printout to store contains the official assignment (original) with signatures,
- The copy to be returned contains a copy of the official assignment including signatures,
- Both thesis copies must be in A4 format, printed on both sides, and in glued binding (hardcover or ring bindings are not acceptable).
- If the student decides to print the thesis through UTB Publishing House: Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis printing and binding (recommended), then:
- The original of the official BT/MT assignment is handed over to UTB Publishing House directly (by an authorized person of the department),
- Student, as soon as possible, after uploading the final version of the BT/MT to IS/STAG and checking it (by the secretary of the implementing department) place an order for printing the thesis via the online form on the UTB Publishing House website,
- Payment instructions will be sent to the student’s university e-mail. Immediately after receiving the instructions, the student will make the payment via QR code or by sending the appropriate amount to the specified account. Without making the payment, printing of the work is not possible, and the order will not be processed.
- The UTB Publishing House will download the thesis in electronic form from IS/STAG (only if the thesis has a yellow flag) and will also take care of the delivery of the printed thesis back to the respective executing department.
- If the student decides to print the thesis outside the UTB Publishing House, then:
- The original of the official thesis assignment will be picked up by the student in person at the department,
- Submits the BT/MT version to the selected publishing house for printing (the thesis must comply with the requirements of Article 2, paragraph 4 of the Rector’s Directive. The exact specifications of the cover design, binding, and dimensions of the thesis are available on the UTB Publishing House,
- delivery of the printed theses to the respective implementing department (by the deadline for submission of the BT/MT) is taken care of by the student personally.
Important information:
- The paper and the electronic form of the thesis must be identical in content!
