
Visit of a scientific delegation from Israel to the Zlín Region and Tomas Bata University in Zlín

March 2025From May 9 to May 11, a meeting was held at the Faculty of Applied Informatics in Zlín with representatives of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the University of the Negev regarding the application of artificial intelligence to the agricultural sector. The aim of the working visit is to support excellent international cooperation, knowledge transfer of knowledge in the areas of intelligent robotic agriculture, the use of artificial intelligence and data analysis for the detection of health anomalies, harvest prediction in greenhouse systems and new smart (SMART) technologies.
Workshop at the Faculty of Applied Informatics – Czech-Israeli Agro-Informatics and AI workshop
The workshop at the Faculty of Applied Informatics was combined with expert presentations presenting scientific research activities in the field of international research. Delana Mikolášová, a scientific diplomat in Israel, spoke about trends and requirements of companies, including the importance of global cooperation. Presentations by experts Dr. Ittai Herrmann (professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem) and Dr. Yuval Pintera (professor at Ben Gurion University of the Negev) and their teams presented the use of artificial intelligence in image analysis and models associated with understandable machine intelligent speech – natural language. A lecture on modern trends was given by the chairman of the Forecasting Club of the Czech Management Association, Dr. Štědroň.
Tomas Bata University was represented by the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (AILab) platform of the Faculty of Applied Informatics with its expert presentations. The entire meeting was accompanied by an extensive expert discussion and was sponsored by the Czech-Israeli Chamber of Commerce.
“The outcome of the expert meeting organized by the Institute of Informatics and Artificial Intelligence is the sharing of expert knowledge and the building of prerequisites for the subsequent transfer of knowledge into practice and a specific teaching process in the areas of applied informatics,” says Dr. Pavel Vařacha, a technology expert with experience from professional university workplaces in the USA and Japan and the executive manager of the expert meeting.
“Technology transfer and cooperation with key global workplaces is the main engine of knowledge growth, which simultaneously builds awareness of the Tomas Bata University brand in the world, along with the potential of the city of Zlín and the Zlín region,” adds Professor Roman Jašek, Director of the Institute of Informatics and Artificial Intelligence and expert guarantor of the entire event.”
The working program was supplemented by a meeting at the Regional Office in Zlín, a tour of the Baťa skyscraper (building 21), a visit to the synagogue in Holešov and the Jewish cemetery with the grave of the prominent Rabbi Šach.
