Studying a Degree programme is basically the most common way to attend a university. If you choose to study any of them, it means you are about to stay here for few years and end up with an academic title. At TBU you can attend degree study programmes in English or Czech.
Degree Studies in English
This website provides information for new applicants to the Faculty of Applied Informatics who wish to apply for English-taught degree programmes. It includes:

How to apply?
To submit your application, you need to choose your preferred study program and complete the online application form here.
The application fee is CZK 740 / EUR 29.
Recognition of previous education
If you completed your previous education outside the Czech Republic, you must go through a recognition process. Recognition checks whether your foreign diploma or certificate matches the Czech education system. This is necessary to confirm that you are eligible to study at the level of the program you are applying for. You will need to submit documents for recognition as part of your application for an English-taught degree program. More details on the recognition of the previous education are available here.
The recognition fee is CZK 990–3,000 / EUR 39–115, depending on which type of recognition you choose.
Requirements
To be eligible to apply for any program taught in English, you must provide proof of English proficiency. The minimum accepted level is B2. You can find the list of accepted English certificates here.

BACHELOR’S DEGREE STUDIES
Duration: 6 semesters (3 academic years)

Useful information:
The admission procedure takes place in several rounds. Applications are collected once a month at the end of the month, and the subsequent admission procedure takes place approximately 14 days after the collection of applications. We recommend submitting your application as soon as possible. From experience, we know that there is a higher probability that students will have time to complete all the necessary procedures, including a visa, and start their studies (in some countries it takes a very long time to process a visa).
Your eligibility will be proven during the admission process for a bachelor’s program by a mathematics exam (high school level) and online interviews in English provided by experts from our faculty (we do not require strictly on the prescribed English language certificate, please provide a certificate you have or a confirmation of English teaching from high school).
You will be included in the admissions process after the required documents have been delivered (uploaded to the e-application) and an administrative fee of CZK 720 (approx. EUR 30) has been paid.
Studies begin approximately in mid-September 2026.
Tuition fees are payable within a month after starting their studies.

Automatic control and informatics – The interview will focus on knowledge of the following study areas:
Control Theory / Systems Dynamics
What is a closed loop (feedback) control system?
Define transfer function, poles, zeros.
What is stability (BIBO stability, Lyapunov)?
What is state space representation?
What is PID control? How do you tune a PID controller?
What is a step / impulse response?
What is frequency response?
What is Laplace transform, Fourier transform, Z-transform?
Differences between continuous and discrete systems.
Differential equations

Software Engineering:
Admission interviews focus on the materials submitted by the applicant—particularly the CV, academic transcript, and motivation letter. They may also include questions that explore a basic understanding of software engineering, programming, and computer science (informatics) at the bachelor’s level. There is no predefined list of questions; the committee will tailor the discussion to the applicant’s background, clarify points arising from the applicant’s documents, and assess the applicant’s overall awareness of the field.
