About the Department
Are you a fan of modern mobile computing and communication devices? This is the exact focus of our Department, Technical Development and Interconnection. Thanks to the Internet, which enables the building of Wireless Access Networks Transmissions Environments; leading to the inter-connection of computer systems and gaining new quality through computing performance and communication.
We are currently working on 3 research projects, in the following areas:
- “Grid Computing” – here, we are trying to attain high efficiency with the joint collaboration of many computers at once. A likely potential solution appears to be networked, intensive mutual communication between computers working on resolving a task.
- “Reconfigurable Systems” – this project resolves issues on Specialised Computing Resources Integration into Real-world Communication and Data Transmission Environments and for Multimedia Applications in Industrial Environments.
- “Communication and Information Systems in Medical Care” – here, research is focused on Application Roles in Health Care. To be specific, this involves resolving better communication between doctors and patients – like Ordering, Examinations, Therapy Planning, Prescription Requests, etc. A further component is the development of Tele-medicine Applications. Here, one can also encounter analytical and consultation work in the Information Systems, Modelling Requirements and Design Solution fields.
